What is PACE all about?

  • PACE is a political PAC set up by PSEA to give money to pro public education candidates.

  • Despite all of the rumors, Dues money is not used to support candidates for office.  That is illegal!

  • Money to impact elections is all voluntary and PACE is the way to get it done.

Why should I give to PACE?

We need to elect people who will support issues that we care about:

  • Continuing public education (as opposed to privatization)
  • Funding our schools
  • Real charter school reform
  • Protecting our defined benefit pension system
  • Collective Bargaining

What are we up against?

  • Betsy Devos and her husband spent $11 million on elections in 2018   Previously, they gave $7.7 million to political causes and candidates up through 2016.
  • Jeffrey Yas of the Susquehanna International Group gave 3,050,000 to Students First in 2018.  He is the Co-owner of the Susquehanna group which is a pro voucher political action committee
  • Leading charter school advocate Vahan Gureghian gave $850,000 to PA politicians since 2014.  He is a leader in the charter school expansion cause.
  • In 2016 PA Student First PAC received $1,071,999.99 from 3 donors in PA.  They want to push vouchers and charter school expansion.
  • September 2018: PA candidate for Governor Scott Wagner Accepted $1 Million Contribution From Students First PAC
